AHA Heartsaver First Aid is a blended learning course that offers students the flexibility to complete the majority of their training at their own pace anytime and anywhere with internet access. This course includes instruction on medical emergencies, including choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings. After completion of the online portion of the course, students must complete an in-person skills practice and testing session with an AHA Instructor.
This course is designed for individuals with limited or no medical experience who need a course certification card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. This class is ideal for the layperson, as well as individuals such as educators, childcare professionals, coaches, camp counselors, construction, general workplace, etc. The format of this course is ideal for those who prefer the option to complete their training anytime, anywhere and have the opportunity to review topics and complete the course at their own pace.
AHA Heartsaver First Aid Online + Skills Session is a blended learning course comprised of two parts.
Part 1 - This online portion of the course utilizes a variety of eLearning assets such as eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students first aid knowledge and skills.
Part 2 - After completion of the online portion, students must attend an instructor-led classroom session focusing on skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, and skills testing.
CME/CE credits are not offered for this course.
Students shall receive their AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course Completion eCard within 24 hours of course completion. This certification is valid for two years. Students can expect to receive an email from ecards@heart.org or noreply@heart.org, with a link to claim their eCard.
